The Hub -provides a forum for matters of community interest as considered relevant by the Bawley Point Kioloa Progress Association, The Community Consultative Group for Shoalhaven City Council. Information placed  here may reflect  different points of view within the community. The PA can only put information up that is provided to it, so if a matter appears to be unbalanced this will be because the PA has not received, in writing, other views  for posting. BAWLEY
POINT KIOLOA AREA MEN’S SHED PROPSAL UPDATE AND NOTICE OF MEETING

Following the meeting of interested residents on 15 February the Steering Committee has conducted a letterbox drop survey to better assess the real level of support for the proposal. The Steering Committee has been encouraged by the very positive feedback from residents with over 50 formal indications of interest to be involved. Considering the population here
this number compares very well with numbers attracted during a similar phase for
the establishment of the Ulladulla and Sussex Inlet Men’s Shed andnodoubt mirrors need/desire within our community for such an activity to be part
of the wider spread of day to day men’s health support/outlets for both
individual and community benefit.

Informal contact has been initiated with the Shoalhaven Council to identify possible locations
for a Shed and when the organisation is formally established discussion and
associated activity, for example pursuit of Government support, will proceed
officially and in earnest.

Men interested in supporting the Men’s Shed are encouraged to
attend this meeting (See following Notice)

BAWLEY POINT KIOLOA AREA MEN’S SHED
NOTICE OF  INAUGURAL GENERAL MEETING
 WEDNESDAY 20 JUNE 2012 AT 7.00 PM
AT THE BAWLEY POINT FIRE STATION

This meeting is being held to follow on from the great
response to the recent survey. The numbers are very encouraging considering our
relatively small population base. We need a good attendance to keep the ball
rolling.

The purpose of the meeting is to formally establish the
Bawley Point Kioloa Area Men’s Shed and in doing so elect office bearers and
carry out other associated required
business.

An Agenda and any other necessary papers will be
available on the night. There will also be a report on progress to
date.

As this will be the founding meeting of the Shed’s formal
existence you are urged to attend and support its formation. It is particularly
important that we have enthusiastic committed office bearers, especially in the
key positions of Secretary and Treasurer, so please consider getting involved
from the outset.

It is pleasing to note that the Bawley Point Bush Fire
Brigade has offered their building as an interim meeting venue for the Men’s
Shed and we record our thanks and appreciation for its
support.

Tea and coffee will be available so by all means bring a
sample of your finest cake
production!

Apologies please to Leon on 0418 622421 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              0418 622421      end_of_the_skype_highlighting
